Sam Hain is a private investigator in San Francisco who has been estranged from his parents for eighteen years. You would be too if your occult-obsessed mother and father had tried to give you the starring role in a snuff film.
When an anonymous letter draws him in to investigate the strange murder of a John Doe, Sam soon discovers a connection between this murder, the recent disappearance of his serial killing parents, and a sardonic demon.
